i'm so happy to be a part of the big south south east exhibition here in Ljubljana!

The exhibition South/Southeast has been prepared by the Society for contemporary Slovene Textile and Fashion Design at the Museum of Architecture and Design/BIO Secretariat. It is a sales exhibition of fashion design of the South and SouthEast Europe.

The exhibition raises question about the identity of South-Eastern fashion design and designers. What constitutes it? Is it the geographical notion of the South-East Europe, the changing cultural, social and economical categories, the stereotypes, the moving borders? Is it the nostalgic view of the Eastern Bloc, transitory postcommunism bricolage or the reflection of modern Eastern Europe? It is all this and more.

The exhibition, examining the identity of South-East modern design and its constitutive designers, presents the recognizable contemporary, avant-garde, conceptualizing and trend-setting fashion designers from Croatia, Poland, Latvia, Bulgaria, Hungary, Serbia, Czech Republic, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Romania, Ukraine and Slovenia. South – SouthEast is therefore the first exhibition not only inside the Slovenian scale, but also in Europe, where the best of fashion designers and brands of this field are going to present themselves.

The exhibition is opened from 1st till the 31th October 2010.
